SIMPLE WAYS to Raise Your Vibration

Simple Ways to Raise Your Vibration
@jensallure

“Good vibes only.” Sounds great, right? But what does it actually mean? The word “vibe” might be a little overused in today’s colloquial speech. It’s really just a contraction of “vibration,” which is something that all physical — and even spiritual — things do, at varying frequencies.

Here at Amé, we’re here to support living a high vibrational life. When we operate at a higher vibration, we are calmer, happier, confident, emotionally intelligent, loving, healing, and prosperous. A high vibration attracts love and success, but it also spreads those things.

When we are in the presence of someone with a high vibration, we feel inspired, loved, and healed. There’s a saying that goes, “Be the good you want to see in the world.” We think this applies to your vibe. However, life gets in the way, and our vibration ebbs and flows. So how can we make sure to create space for our energetic disposition?

In short, ritual. Rituals are such a crucial pathway to connecting with our spiritual self, our emotional self, and our pragmatic, loving, and harmonious self in an innumerable amount of ways, large and small, throughout each day. When we find our own tools and rituals to connect with, we begin to vibrate higher, and attract the beautiful things in life that we deserve — like peace, joy, and love.

Incorporate roses into your life.

Roses are an incredibly high-vibrational plant. They are loaded with antioxidants as well as soothing, healing, and beautifying natural compounds. On stressful work days, keep a bottle of rosewater nearby and give your skin a drink by misting every hour or so. Not only will the scent boost your mood with its delicate, natural fragrance, but you’ll be extra dewy and hydrated.

We can also infuse a light floral essence to everything we eat and drink with this edible super-plant. One option: Sip on rose tea in the mornings or evenings. It’s a lightly floral, subtly sweet herbal tea that is both invigorating as well as relaxing, so it’s good for a pick-me-up or a wind down. It’s a great herbal tea for anti-aging effects, as well as blissing out your mood. Or, use dried rose petals to make a great garnish for home-baked desserts. Vibe higher and get a rosy glow by adding roses to your day, whenever, wherever.

Make gratitude lists.

It’s quite easy to fall into the trap of ruminating on what we don’t have. In fact, we can continuously accumulate material and even emotional blessings, and still feel an urgent, oppressive sense of scarcity if we don’t take a moment to sit back and take inventory of all of our blessings.

These things could be our health, our access to transportation, the health of a loved one, meaningful friendships, food on the table, our natural beauty, our fingers and toes … Allowing oneself to be grateful for everything that we have and everything that serves us is incredibly humbling and perspective-giving. Expect to want much less and spread much more love and joy when you begin this practice.

Having sweet thoughts? Say them out loud.

It’s a common human flaw to hold in our complimentary thoughts about others, and it stems from insecurity. Maybe we don’t want that beautiful neighbor to get a big head because we are already jealous of her good looks. Maybe we don’t want to boost up our romantic partner too much, because we worry if they realize how gorgeous they are, they’ll leave us.

Let’s drop that mentality, and spread the love. Tell your partner they’re stunning in this light. You love their curls. Tell your neighbor how radiant you think she is. Tell your friend you admire how emotionally intelligent they are, and you strive to learn from them. Let out all of your positive thoughts and reinforcement to others, and don’t hold back the love. Trust that your own beauty and gifts will glow tenfold in return.

Meditation or a moment of calm + breathwork.

Meditation isn’t easy, but it’s not meant to be a perfect practice. Giving ourselves just 10 minutes a day to be still, breathe, and let our thoughts and stressors float by like passing clouds has enormous positive repercussions, especially for our vibrational well-being.

Eat well.

Like we mentioned before, everything has energy and everything has a vibration. In Ayurveda, it’s known as prana, which is defined as our life force. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it’s called qi. It’s vital that we eat, for the most part, with our energy in mind. What foods have a high vibe, and which don’t?

It’s actually pretty simple. Whole, natural foods that are in or close to their original, natural form as possible are going to vibe the highest. Think of fruits, vegetables, fresh juices and smoothies, salads, whole grains like buckwheat, quinoa, wild rice, and oats, live, fermented foods like kraut and kimchi, yogurt and kefir, miso and koji … All of these foods are teeming with life, and will provide our bodies with dense nutrition and energy that will help us to glow.

Foods that combat this are highly processed. Think: packaged foods and vegan junk food, all full of hydrogenated oils. Think of white sugar and white bread, enriched wheat products, and deli meats chock full of nitrites and sodium. Processed cheese, and foods with long shelf life, and definitely, certainly, drive-thru or fast food — these are all dead foods, so their vibration is very low.

Low-vibe foods will bring down your vital energy as well, and make us appear dull and tired. Avoid them as much as possible, but don’t let that be a point of stress. Here at Amé, we are big proponents of living a balanced life with a little give and take, so a junk food indulgence every once in a while is an important part of life. Just make sure to balance this with a mostly high vibe diet.

Detox things that make you feel low.

Sometimes our guilty pleasures are bringing us down. Maybe we are indulging in one too many murder podcasts, or dark or stressful TV shows. Perhaps the Housewives franchise, while entertaining, isn’t healthy to binge on nightly, and you need a break. Maybe Instagram is making you feel insecure, unworthy, jealous, or uncertain.

Limit your screen time. Add some variation to your podcasts subscriptions, and choose uplifting episodes that leave you feeling educated or empowered. Cut back on alcohol or sweet treats. Spend some time apart from a friend that makes you feel emotionally drained. Some of these things are energy vampires, meaning that they literally tap into your vibe and hemorrhage your positive prana, leaving you low and fatigued. Take time to pinpoint what they are, and allow yourself to cleanse from them from time to time.

Create an altar.

Beauty attracts beauty, so why not bring it into your home? Cultivating a space that makes you feel warm, loved, comfortable, and your best self is important in every part of your living space, so decluttering as well as thoughtfully decorating can have a huge impact on the way we feel overall. But doing a redecorating overhaul every season isn’t practical, so we can embrace each season by creating a small altar space in a sweet little corner of our home.
Some like to utilize the top of their dresser in the bedroom for this. Others use a shelf in the hallway or in the bathroom. And still others, the corner of the kitchen countertop, or a small side table in the main living space. Wherever you can squeeze it in, find a place to put some locally foraged (or store bought) flowers in a vase. Maybe a favorite potted plant. Add a seasonal piece of produce that doesn’t need refrigeration. Add your favorite crystal, or maybe some incense to spark a calming mood.

Whatever your altar is about is up to you. Just create a small area that feels alive, and honors what is serving you right now. When you carve out a space for this energy, you raise your own.

Connect with nature.

It may go without saying, but nature vibes the highest. It’s actual source energy — it’s where we come from, and it’s where we’re going back to, eventually. Take time out of the day to take a walk, and if you can, take your shoes off and stick your feet in some sand, dirt, or grass to truly ground. You’ll notice a genuine difference in mood and energy for days to come after a practice like this. Doing it daily is incredible, but weekly will do. One of our favorite ways to ground is to lie in the grass under a tree and stare at the branches above. You’ll feel the life and love from this type of meditation, and continue to carry it with you.
